Do it when the thought comes.

Throughout my entire life, I have loved and looked forward to Christmas time.  Carols, lights, treats, presents, all of these things set the season apart as a special time of year.  More than that, the way that people treated each other often changed in subtle ways; kindness, patience and a genuine care for others seemed to be more likely to be seen during the Christmas season.

Sadly, too often the end of the season seems to mark a return to “business as usual” for the human race.  And regularly I hear people wish that the spirit of the season would last longer and become somehow more permanent in the hearts and minds of men.  Of course, it can.  It simply begins with a determination in the heart and mind of one.

As the season comes to its culmination, may we all remember to carry the style and substance if the Christmas season each and every day, acting on it when the thought comes to mind, whenever the thought comes to mind.
